I have a slight obsession with France, the music, the fashion, the food but not the people so much. However there has been one person that I admire above all others. Ms Carla Bruni or Mrs Nicholas Sarkozy. Her voice is delicate and beautiful. I am completely in love with her music. I have had an intense love for this song for about 10 years. It always reminds me of the scene from Almost Famous where the band sing it in the bus when they are on tour. As they reminisce, I do. I decided to stay in on Friday night, I needed the night in. I was rather pooped from the partying the night before. All I wanted to do was disappear under the warmth of my duvet while taking in a subtitled movie. I have a slight obsession with French film, or any foreign film for that matter. They just do everything better I think. So I picked 'La Vie En Rose', the Edith Piaf biopic. Piaf is portrayed by Marion Cotillard, who deservedly won an Oscar for this role. I was riveted. The music, the voice, the life. I was once again convinced that I need to live in France, even if for a short while. In Grasse, I think. The last song she sings at the end of the film really moved me. She sings of living a life without regret. This is how I live my life. So I thought it had to be my lyric of the day that I share with you. Enjoy!
