He says the song by Kings of Leon "Milk" seems to sum everything up.

Eating my breakfast this morning, flipping some channels and on came a familiar track. 'Love Lost' by The Temper Trap. I have fallen for this music video. It is cool. That is the only word that comes to mind when I think of it, Oh, and original. 10 young boys running in the rain and mud singing. Brilliant! Shame, they must have been buggered afterwards. haha. I love this band. Bee Gees meets U2 but listenable.

I have a mad obsession with swing and jazz, and feed this obsession by listening to neo-swing bands such as Squirrel Nut Zippers and Big Bad Voodoo Daddy. I absolutely love this music video and song by the Squirrel Nut Zippers. Pure genius. Something a little different, something a little crazy, just up my alley. Plus I have a little obsession with animation. Enjoy!

It took me hours of searching the vastness that is the interweb using the Google-machine to find this music video, by a band I could not name, nor had any inkling of the lyrics or even the song name. Alas I found it. Time to share it.

I absolutely love the side projects that the guys from Fokofpolisiekar are involved in. From aKing to Die Heuwels Fantasties, there are so many to mention. The latest one (I think) includes frontman, Francois van Coke and Yesterday's Pupil one man bander, Peach van Pletzen. They have created Oorlog Frankenstein. Genius I say. This is the single 'Dans, Dans, Dans' (Haezer remix).

I love this band and their no nonsense "we are punk as fuck" attitude. I have been playing them often in the last few weeks, and today in particular. Whenever I feel like a laugh and listening to some awesome punk then I put on Guttermouth. Their name says it all. Too funny.

DHF - Sonrotse

This video is by one of the most wonderfully creative bands in South Africa, Die Heuwels Fantasties. This video makes me want to go back to Mozambique with all my buddies. To swim, to watch the sun rises and sets, to laugh and to enjoy. I guess that is what a good music video does, makes one nostalgic and keeps one enraptured. I actually quoted the lyrics this past weekend, a reflection on my time in Heidelberg.

This band gives me absolute goosebumps every time I listen to them. Completely original and completely South African. Again, so proud. Aaaah. Die Heuwels Fantasties. And to think the band name was completely devised as a joke. haha. Fantasties.
