Happy Birthday!

My Dear Paul

Although we may be spending some time apart. I still want to wish you the happiest of birthdays.

26 today!!
I have known you for 11 of those 26 years. From high school buddies, forever friends at AFDA, party pals after varsity, colleagues and then partners in life and crime.

I wish for you a year and life paved by good choices, fine wine, good music, memorable moments, loyal friends, successful business endeavours, strong health, bursts of creative joy and energy, fantastic adventures around the world and of course boundless love.

I give to you my promise to remain your friend, to remain by your side without defining the capacity. To abandon a friendship and love as true as ours would be shameful.

Celebrate life! For you have only enjoyed the first quarter of it.

I toast to you, My Paul.

My Sister's 21st Birthday Video

This is a video I edited for my sister's 21st birthday. I used photographs and home movies to create a story and montage set to music. If you keen for the same for your event, drop me a mail. Enjoy!

Happy Birthday to Me...

I am a whole 25 years old today. Commence quarter-life crisis!

"You know it doesn't make much sense
There ought to be a law against
Anyone who takes offense
At a day in your celebration
Cause we all know in our minds
That there ought to be a time
That we can set aside
To show just how much we love you
And I'm sure you would agree
It couldn't fit more perfectly
Than to have a world party on the day you came to be

Happy birthday to you
Happy birthday to you
Happy birthday..."

Pally's Party

Went to my pal Ally Pally's (Ally Stokes') birthday bash at Gin on Saturday night and she had a photobooth there for people to snap themselves in. It was AWESOME. Had some pics snapped with Jackie and her room mate (sorry bud, forgot yer name). I think they came out great. Thanks Pally (the blonde in the film pics) for a rad night, and I will wish you a Happy of Happiests on the 15th my beautiful friend.

24th in 35mm

I collect old cameras. I have an Agfa Optima Flash Sensor. I think it may have been my Aunt Marion's camera back in the day. It was first manufactured back in 1977. I know, ancient right. I thought why not slap some film into the old gal and see how she goes. So I gave her a test run using my dogs as my unwilling victims and then unleashed her on my 24th Birthday party guests. I think the results are pretty awesome. I like the grainy quality and where some of the images are slightly burned out. The flash is INTENSE! Just ask my friends. I shall be using this old gal more often... ENJOY!

Lyric of the Day

It's my birthday today... I turned 24... and to me that is like turning 50. Oh dear. Alas, I love birthdays and my sister says that I turn them into an Indian Wedding. Well! I do love to make things last. hahahaha.

"You say it's your birthday
It's my birthday too--yeah
They say it's your birthday
We're gonna have a good time
I'm glad it's your birthday
Happy birthday to you.

Yes we're going to a party party
Yes we're going to a party party
Yes we're going to a party party..."

Friends, Frozen Margheritas and a Funny Hat

It was my friend Caroline's birthday. She chose the most awesome restaurant, Cafe Mexhico (the old Tokyo Star in Melville). We sat at the longest table, sipping on heavily tequila-ed Frozen Margheritas and eating some yummy Mexican foodies. The night got a little crazy. We ate a cake with her face on it. And then people donned the sombrero...

Belly Laughing Birthdays

I had one of those "you had to be there" and "it was legend" moments last night. Driving to dinner for my friends birthday. Packed into the back of the car was myself, Caroline (the birthday girl) and five helium-filled "Happy Birthday" balloons. Riding shotgun was Ms Louise and our humble driver for the night, Shahil ("The Token") was at the wheel. Winding along a glistening Witkoppen, Shahil calmly cornered the road into a burst water main gushing gloriously. The water cascaded through the only open window (on Shahil's side) spraying our clothes, faces and of course the balloons. Shocked and a little wet we just laughed. Laughed about laughing. Laughed about how our faces and tummies ached from laughing. Caught up in the hilarity of it all.
!BANG! ... delay, the girls screamed, I laughed. A "Happy Birthday" balloon had exploded in the car. Shocked and a little relieved, we just laughed.
It was legend but I guess you had to be there.
