I follow this awesome website Faces in Places and last night, making dinner, came across my own "faces in places". So I snapped the picture and am now sharing this smiling face with you guys. I thought it was quite funny to have my food smile back at me. It happens to be an onion, thank you onion for making me smile before you make me cry. Enjoy!

Take It or Leave It
"Without hope, the us's give up -
I know you cannot live on hope alone,
but without it, life is not worth living.
So you, and you, and you...
You gotta give em' hope...
you gotta give em' hope..."

Saturday Stumblings at The Collectors Treasury
Situated on 244 Commisioner Street in Kensington (Arts on Main) and spread over 8 storeys, The Collectors Treasury is Southern Africa's largest used book store, but it doesn't only end, or begin at books. It is essentially an antiques store with a focus on books and vinyls and dust, my nose itches at the thought of the place. Shahil emailed us his infamous Saturday exploration email, and told us that he would be going, whether we joined him or not. Of course we would be joining, this place is an institution. So we rose early on a Saturday morning, gathered the troops, and all missioned through the dark side of town to find the hidden collected treasures. Wow, we find some dusies. I found a first edition Mein Kampf, no lies. Paul had mini heart attacks whenever he came across his favourite and hard-to-find authour Jack Kerouac, who was crazily over-priced in my opinion, but books have no price. It was fun exploring the crowded, dusty, narrow bookshelves with my baby-love and my friends. I will be returning soon, well to get Paul's books. I will take an Allergex beforehand though, haha.

Fokof MK Vredefest
Fokofpolisiekar played the MK Vredefest held at Town Hall in Newtown, on the 3rd September (last week Friday). They were preceded by Foto Na Dans, Wrestlerish and other local bands. What an awesome night. Apart from being treated to my very first performance by Foto Na Dans (Holy Heck they were incredible!) and the always awesome Wrestlerish, Fokof seemed to own the night. I only managed to snap pics of Fokof, and Francois always puts on such an amazing show, what a performer. Great night spent with my love, watching bands, having a drink, having a time.

Surprising Stumblings
Looking for templates and images for my 25th birthday invitation I found the most marvellous picture of Van Gogh's "Starry Starry Night" made out of cupcakes. There are such wonderful creations and findings out in the world. So I am sharing this wonderful finding and creation with you. Enjoy!

Lyric of the Day
I have been given a pre-released copy of the soon-to-be released album of the much anticipated release by Versus The Wolf. They used to be called New Altum. They are a local South African band (faith-focused) and to say that I was slightly obsessed with them is an understatement.
"...Stay, stay with me tonight, stay with me tonight.
I was very pleasantly surprised to hear that my FAVOURITE New Altum track has in fact made it onto the Versus The Wolf album. WOW! This song gave me goosebumps 2 years ago and it still does today. Effing power! Great work guys. The album artwork is unparalleled. I urge anyone to pick up a copy of this album, or better yet, order through my good buddy Niel at Give and Take Records.
"...Stay, stay with me tonight, stay with me tonight.
When I hear your heart beat, my heart screams out stay,
stay with me tonight,
I know I'll be alright as long as you're with me,
as long as you stay..."

Happy Spring Bitches
It is officially the first day of Spring. Bring on the colours, bring on the scents, bring on the flowers, bring on the sunshine, bring on the bees, bring on the nesting birds and noisy frogs at night, bring on the cherry blossoms and leafing trees, bring on the warm nights punctuated by conversation, laughter and wine, bring on the hayfever.
I love Spring!
